Criminal Defense Attorney

Scott Brower comes from a long line of attorneys in the State of Alabama. His great grandfather, Walter Scott Brower was law partner to Supreme Court Justice Hugo Black and later served as Special Assistant to the Attorney General of the United States.  After law school, Scott joined a Birmingham insurance defense firm. During that time, Scott represented trucking companies, heavy equipment dealers and manufacturers.


After several years, Scott left the world of insurance defense and joined his father in a criminal law practice. Very quickly, he discovered criminal law was his passion. With over 20 years’ experience in criminal law, Scott is recognized as one of the top criminal defense lawyers in the state. He is admitted to practice before all Alabama state and federal courts and the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals.  His practice is exclusively criminal defense and includes state and federal felonies including death penalty, drug trafficking and financial crimes. Scott has tried more than 50 cases time verdict in Alabama state and federal courts. He has represented clients in over 60 of the 67 counties in Alabama.


Scott is a lifelong resident of Birmingham and a product of the Birmingham City School System. He graduated from the University of Alabama Birmingham in 1996. He graduated from Birmingham School of Law in 1999. He has won multiple merit awards from the Alabama Criminal Defense Association for outstanding representation in criminal cases.
Scott currently lives in Birmingham with his wife, April. They have one son, Will, who attends the University of Alabama and plans to join his father in the practice of law.
